Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt y Tré Cool anunciaron formalmente el `Green Day: Rock Band´ con la lista de canciones que aparecerán en él..

A comparación de sus antecesores, en `Green Day: Rock Band´ los protagonistas se convierten en surfistas de público. Los avatares han evolucionado, se adaptan a las características físicas de los músicos; además de que se respetan detalles tan simples, e importantes a la vez, como el lugar donde colocan sus instrumentos, y las cintas de las guitarras.

El juego incluirá tres álbumes enteros: `21st Century Breakdown´ (2009), `American Idiot´ (2004) y `Dookie´ (1994); así como una selección variada de canciones extraídas de otros discos, para en total sumar 47 temas. Tres serán los escenarios en los que se desarrollará el videojuego.
